Army’s dominance continued on the first day of the athletics event of the National Games, Army topped the medal board with seven gold, six silver and two bronze medals.

In national sports competitions, WAPDA stood second with 5 gold, five silver and four bronze medals, Higher Education Commission (HEC) stood third with one gold, two silver and four bronze medals, while Sindh, Air Force and Navy Won a bronze medal.

At the end of the first day of athletics events at the National Games, WAPDA’s Isha Imran secured the first position in the women’s 100m race. Honored himself.

Tehmeen Khan of Army managed to win the silver medal by covering the distance in 11.33 seconds while Arooj Khan of WAPDA won the bronze medal by covering the distance in 11.78 seconds.

In men’s 100m race, Naeem Akhtar of Army bagged the title of the fastest athlete of National Games 2023 by winning gold medal, Gohar Shehbaz of WAPDA won silver and Ali Ahmed of Higher Education Commission (HEC) won bronze. Won the medal.

In men’s shot put, Army’s Jamshed bagged the gold medal by throwing the shot at a distance of 16.49 meters while Zohaib of WAPDA won silver and Bilal Shahid of WAPDA won bronze.

In the 400m men’s hurdle, Abdul Razzaq won the gold medal, he covered the prescribed distance in 51.3 one second and secured the first position, Army’s Shahid Ramzan won the silver and WAPDA’s Usama Bashir won the bronze medal.

In men’s long jump, Afzal of Army managed to win the gold medal, he took the first position with a long jump of 7.47 meters, Kashif of Army won silver and Faraz Khan of HEC won bronze.

In the men’s 5000m race, Muhammad Akhtar of WAPDA won the gold medal. He covered the distance of 5000m in 15 minutes 32 seconds and 8 zero to get the first position. Sohail Amir of WAPDA won the silver medal while Ali of Navy won the gold medal. Hassan won the bronze medal.

In women’s high jump, WAPDA’s Rabab Ansari won gold, WAPDA’s Noreen Fatima won silver and HEC’s Umtal won bronze.

In women’s 800m, WAPDA’s Rabia Ashiq won the gold medal, Army’s Rubella won the silver and HEC’s Sunina Maswar bagged the bronze.
