The body of Ghanaian international footballer Christian Atsu, who went missing after the earthquake in Turkey, was found in the rubble after 12 days.
According to reports, Ghanaian international footballer Christian Atsu was living in a 12-storey luxury apartment in Antakya, Hatay, Turkey, at the time of the earthquake.
The footballer had been out of touch since the earthquake but his body has now been recovered from the rubble and his Turkish agent has confirmed his death.
He said that the footballer’s mobile phone was also found near the body.
The Ghanaian footballer joined the local Turkish club last year and was in Antakya to compete in the Turkish Super League.
Christian Atsu represented Ghana in 65 international matches from 2012 to 2019 and scored 10 goals, he also represented Chelsea, Newcastle United and other clubs.
