The plot
On her birthday, university student Theresa Trey Gelbman wakes up in a dorm room that is not her own, but that of a boy named Carter, where she ignores her father’s phone call and returns to her room. goes
Lori Spengler, a roommate, gives her a cupcake, which Theresa throws away.
As she goes through a tunnel to attend a party at night, she is murdered by a man wearing a baby mask (a mask with the face of a baby).

A few interesting facts
The script of the film was prepared in 2007 and was initially titled Half to Death with different actors, but then it could not be completed.
Later in October 2016, work on the film resumed and was renamed Happy Death Day while hiring a new director and cast.
The film’s director scares a worker by wearing a baby mask in his office and then chooses it for the killer’s mask in the film.
When the director was asked why he chose the baby mask, he said that he wanted to use a mask on a college campus that felt intimidating and humorous at the same time.
The question of why Theresa gets stuck in the time loop is not answered in the film, it was answered in the second part of the film which was released in 2019.
