Pakistan Junior Selection Committee Chairman and Peshawar Zalmi’s batting consultant Kamran Akmal has spoken out on speculations about his relationship with his cousin Babar Azam.
Talking to the media at the National Stadium Karachi after the franchise’s first practice session for the 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the former cricketer was asked that ‘people on social media are thinking that Babar’s success But you don’t tweet, you don’t talk about it, so is there a difference between you guys? While right now you guys were taking part in a good practice session’.
Kamran Akmal replied with a smile, ‘There is no such thing, I try not to say anything about those who are my brothers, whether they do good or bad, I do not praise them, I want the world. Appreciate, you are the people to convey their performance to the world, aren’t you? If you do, the world will know more.
He said Babar is my brother, I don’t need to praise him, I never praised my brothers Umar Akmal and Adnan Akmal too.
Kamran said, “There should be pressure on them to give performances, they should not get the impression that if they have a brother, then this is an advantage.”
The former cricketer said that Babar’s batting is indeed good, but I tell him that there is still a need for improvement in captaincy.
