The Lahore High Court declared the collection of fuel adjustment in electricity bills as illegal -HP NEWS

Lahore High Court declared the collection of fuel price adjustment in electricity bills as illegal.

Justice Ali Baqir Najafi of Lahore High Court gave judgment on 3659 applications of the same nature. The court had reserved the verdict on October 10, 2022.

The court accepted the petitions against the fuel price adjustment in the electricity bills and declared the collection of quarter tariff adjustment as illegal.

The court also invalidated the tariff change without hearing the consumer. The court directed to continue subsidy to domestic consumers up to 500 units and said that power should be generated from other sources including solar.

The court also directed Nepra to take action on overcharging.
