Islamabad: The announcement of the meeting of the delegation of Pakistan and the IMF was issued.

According to the statement, the Pakistan delegation was led by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and the IMF delegation was led by Mission Chief Nathan Porter.

Minister of State Ayesha Ghous Pasha, Secretary Finance, Governor State Bank, Chairman FBR, Prime Minister’s Assistants Tariq Bajwa and Tariq Pasha participated in the Pakistani delegation.

The statement said that the meeting with the IMF delegation reviewed economic and fiscal policies while discussing reforms to complete the ninth review.

In the meeting, the Finance Minister briefed the IMF about economic policies and reforms in various sectors, currency exchange rate to meet fiscal deficit and energy sector reforms.

According to the statement, the meeting between Pakistan and the IMF also discussed the measures to be taken to meet the fiscal deficit, while the reforms and setting up of a high-level committee to end the revolving debt in the energy sector were discussed.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan wants to complete the IMF program and Pakistan will provide all possible support for the ninth review.

IMF Mission Chief Nathan Porter said that I am hopeful that Pakistan will take necessary steps to complete the ninth review, and hope that Pakistan will work with the IMF on timely reforms in various sectors.
