24 hours have passed since the historic breakdown of electricity in the country, despite the restoration operation, the electricity could not be fully restored.
Electricity has been partially restored in various cities including Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Bhakkar, Muzaffarabad, while the restoration of electricity across the country is likely to happen by this afternoon.
On the other hand, due to power outage, the work of industries across the country was stopped, operations in various hospitals were postponed, water supply from Dhabeji to Karachi was stopped.
Due to the power breakdown, more than 50 percent of the country’s petrol pumps ran out of petrol and diesel, customers queued up at the petrol pumps.
During a power breakdown, a house caught fire from a candle in Sialkot, as a result of which 2 children died and 3 people were injured.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has established a high-level investigation committee taking notice of the power outage.
Minister of State for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik says the power breakdown is the result of weak infrastructure, we have increased power generation but could not strengthen the power transmission system.
