The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has taken notice of today’s power breakdown in the country.
In a statement issued by Nepra, it has been said that taking notice of the breakdown in the country, it has sought a report from the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC).
The statement further said that in 2021 and 2022, penalties have been imposed for incidents of blackout and tower collapse, NEPRA has been continuously issuing instructions, recommendations to prevent such incidents in future.
It should be remembered that there was a major power breakdown across the country including Karachi and Islamabad around 7:30 this morning, after which the restoration work is going on.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir Khan says that there is no major fault, electricity will be restored throughout the country in the next 12 hours.
