Federal Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir Khan says that there is no major power failure in the country, it is hoped that in the next 12 hours, electricity will be completely restored throughout the country.
Talking to Geo News, Khurram Dastgir Khan said that at the time of power generation, each megawatt is looked at to see what effect it will have on the power tariff, and since the demand for electricity is less in winter, the system is used at night. Most of the systems are turned off at 11:00 am and the systems are turned on again one by one in the morning.
He further said that around seven o’clock this morning when the system was being turned on one by one, during this time there was a power breakdown between Jamshoro and Dadu due to lack of frequency.
The federal minister said that the breakdown has come from north to south and we are slowly restoring the system from south to north, we have started restoring some systems from Tarbela and Warsak.
Khurram Dastgir Khan said that according to a cautious estimate, the electricity supply will be fully restored in the next 12 hours, efforts are being made to restore the electricity completely before that.
When asked about the interruption in electricity supply in a large part of Karachi, the Federal Minister for Energy said that the issue of Karachi city is a bit complicated, K-Electric also has its own system in Karachi, but Karachi is not connected to the National Grid. 1100 megawatts of electricity is provided, it will be restored in a few hours.
