Cricket will not be included in the 2028 Olympics to be held in Los Angeles, California.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) had shortlisted eight sports including cricket to be included in the Olympic Games.
According to Indian media reports, the International Olympics Committee informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about this.
The ICC has announced the formation of a new committee to include cricket in the 2032 Olympics and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah will head the new committee.
It should be noted that cricket was included for the first and last time in the Paris Olympics in 1900. Apart from this, cricket was included in the 2022 Commonwealth Games and women’s T20 events were held in which teams from 8 countries participated.
Australia won the gold medal in cricket at the Commonwealth Games.
