Pakistani cricketer Wahab Riaz will be the sports minister in the caretaker setup of Punjab.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi nominated 11 ministers for caretaker cabinet in Punjab, out of which 8 caretaker ministers took oath of office in Governor House Lahore. Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman administered the oath to the caretaker ministers.
According to sources, former bureaucrat Naseem Sadiq could not take oath due to not getting clearance.
Sources said that Tamkunat Karim refused to take oath as caretaker minister while Wahab Riaz could not take oath as he was out of the country.
It should be noted that the left-arm fast bowler is currently busy in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
In an exclusive conversation with GeoSooper, Wahab Riaz confirmed that he will take oath as caretaker sports minister of Punjab on his return home.
It should be noted that SM Tanveer, Dr. Javed Akram, Ibrahim Murad, Bilal Afzal, Dr. Jamal Nasir, Mansoor Qadir, Syed Azfar Ali Nasir and Aamir Mir are among those who took the oath.
It should be noted that the caretaker provincial cabinet will take over the responsibilities until the elections are held in the province.
