Deputy Commissioner Kemari Mukhtiar Ali Abaru says that deaths are suspected due to smoke and chemicals from small factories in the houses.
The death of 18 children affected by poisonous gas has been revealed in Moach Goth area of Kemari district of Karachi in the last few days.
Talking to Geo News in Karachi on phone, the Deputy Commissioner said that 4 people have been arrested by sealing three factories today.
He said that a team of doctors and a mobile lab were sent to the area on the report of deaths.
He said that the blood samples and X-rays of the people suffering from fever and throat pain were taken, all the samples were sent to the laboratory.
He said that the people of Goth have reported the death of 15 to 16 people in a month.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the investigation related to the smoke and chemicals coming out of the factory is going on.
He further said that the final cause of death will be given only after the laboratory reports.
