The resignation of the Kuwaiti government was accepted, Crown Prince Sheikh Meshaal Al-Sabah issued a royal decree approving the resignation.
The government under Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Sabah will continue the setup work as a caretaker till the formation of the new cabinet.
The prime minister submitted the resignation of his cabinet last week due to political infighting in parliament.
The parliament had asked the government to increase the salaries across the country or the government would take over the outstanding debt of the citizens.
The government’s stance was that the move would be very expensive, costing $46 billion in national funds, but elected members said it would only cost $6.5 billion.
