Considered among the most respected in the film world 95th Oscar Awards 2023 Nominations was announced.
According to foreign media reports, the controversial film ‘Joyland’, nominated by Pakistan in the category of Best International Feature Film, failed to make it to the final list of Oscars.
During a live broadcast last night, Oscar-winning actor and ‘Joyland’ executive producer Riz Ahmed announced the nominations along with Alison Williams. However, Joyland, directed by Saeem Sadiq, could not compete with films from Germany, Poland, Ireland, Belgium and Argentina.
It should be remembered that at the beginning of this month, the said film was shortlisted by the Academy Awards in the category of Best International Feature Film, but now it could not make it to the final list.
According to foreign media reports, in the 95th Oscar nominations, the German film ‘Every Thing, Everywhere, All at Once’ topped the list with 11 nominations.
This Hollywood science fiction film has been nominated for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor among others.
Apart from this, ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ and ‘The Blessings of Anishir’, which is set in the background of World War I, are tied for second place with 9 nominations each.
While in the Foreign Films category, the song Naatu Naatu from the Indian film RRR was nominated in the Best Original Song category.
Malala Yousafzai-backed short documentary ‘Stranger at the Gate’ has also been shortlisted for the Oscars.
Remember that the 95th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on March 12 in Los Angeles, in which the nominees will be awarded the biggest award in the film world.
