Multilateral joint military exercises between the US and Israel began yesterday and will continue until Friday.
According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), military exercises are conducted to test the capabilities of armed forces on land, sea and air.
Centcom says more than 140 fighter jets, 12 ships and artillery systems from both countries are part of the exercises.
These exercises include B-52, F-35, F-16, F-15 and F-18 fighter jets.
The US official told the media that these joint exercises were planned just two months ago.
Defense analysts say that such large-scale military exercises require a year of preparation.
Atlantic Council analyst Jean Loup said that these joint military exercises show the determination of the United States and Israel to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.
Iran has ramped up its uranium enrichment, moving very close to building an atomic bomb.
According to defense analysts, the United States and Israel have sent a message through joint military exercises that both countries can deploy their military assets on a large scale very quickly.
