The 7-day “Pakistan Youth Festival 2023” was colorfully inaugurated by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.
The festival was inaugurated by renowned writer and intellectual Anwar Maqsood. On this occasion, President of Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah and Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi Khalid Iraqi were also present with him.
Well-known writer and intellectual Anwar Maqsood said that the greatest position is to be the vice chancellor of a university and there is no higher position than that.
He further said that you people are the future of Pakistan, women are the future of Pakistan whose face is seen only half, you will see women in every sector of Pakistan.
Anwar Maqsood said that I have come here for you, you are the children of this land, find your own way, the destinations will come before you.
President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah while addressing the event said that due to covid the youth festival could not be held for the last five years, they are organizing this festival after five years, 30 thousand students have registered in this festival.
He said that University of Karachi, where Anwar Maqsood, Ahmad Shah, Huma Mir and many other personalities passed out, Karachi University runs with all the colleges, this Youth Festival belongs to you youth, you youths have made their name bright. To do, your name will be bright then the name of the country will be bright.
He further said that this country has seen a lot of suffering, you students will not lose heart from anything, we will change the conditions of the country, you will all change.
Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi Khalid Iraqi said that he is very grateful to the Arts Council for the invitation to the Youth Festival.
He said that Anwar Maqsood is a great name of Pakistan. I have been listening and reading Anwar Maqsood since I was studying in matriculation.
The vice chancellor of the University of Karachi said that we are often afraid of difficulties, while we should not be afraid, when you decide to do something, you can do it.
It should be noted that on the opening day of the ongoing Pakistan Youth Festival in Arts Council Karachi, auditions of 4 different categories were held in which thousands of male and female students participated.
The competitions for the remaining 6 categories will continue till 28th while the closing ceremony of the festival will be held on 29th.

In the opening ceremony, well-known singer Asim Azhar, Kashmir Band, Jambros, Mustafa Baloch stole the show with their performances.
