The Election Commission issued guidelines for caretaker governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
A notification of guidelines has been issued under the signature of Secretary Election Commission Umar Hameed, in which it has been stated that the caretaker governments will assist the Election Commission in conducting the elections.
According to the guidelines, recruitment has been banned in all ministries, divisions, departments and institutions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. No government employee will be appointed or transferred without the approval of the Election Commission.
No development plan will be announced in the two provinces, all development funds of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Kent Board will remain frozen till the announcement of general election results.
Official residences of former chief ministers, ministers, advisors should be vacated, government vehicles should be taken back and heads of all institutions should be removed immediately.
The guidelines state that caretaker governments should perform their duties on a daily basis, caretaker chief ministers and ministers should also submit details of assets within three days.
