The members of the JIT investigating the assassination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan have been replaced.

The notification for the appointment of new JIT members headed by Ghulam Mahmood Dogar was issued.

According to the notification, the new members of the JIT include DPODG Khan Muhammad Akmal, SP Anjum Kamal and DSPCIA Jhang Nasir Nawaz.

The notification states that the decision to appoint the fourth member of any department rests with the JIT.

Sources say that new members have been appointed after differences emerged in the old JIT.

The old members had raised objections to the JIT chief’s investigation and procedure.

Sources have said that former members had accused Ghulam Mehmood Dogar of investigating on political grounds.

It should be noted that on November 3, during PTI’s long march, Imran Khan was assassinated in Wazirabad, in which PTI Chairman was injured.

One person was killed and 13 people including the PTI chairman and other leaders were injured in the incident.

Naveed, the shooter, was later caught near the container, who also confessed to firing on Imran Khan.
